A big, busy, cheerful room

This one sits in the Upper Oakville Shopping Centre on Upper Middle Road, between Mastermind Toys, Dollarama and Metro. It is a fun spot and a spacious one, with high ceilings and room to spread out.

Come in with the shopping, come in with the kids, come in with a group. There is a lot of seating and space for all of it.

The coffee is exactly the same coffee as everywhere else we have: Colombian, bought direct from the growers, and roasted at our Kerr Village roastery down the road.

No grinder at home? Tell us how you brew.

We sell beans whole, always. Grinding costs aroma and freshness, so we don't do it until you're standing there.

When you buy a bag, tell us how you brew at home and we'll grind to match. Espresso machine, moka pot, drip, pour over, French press. They all need a different grind, and supermarket pre-ground coffee is set to one middle setting that suits drip and nothing else.

If your coffee at home has never tasted as good as it does here, this is almost always why. It's the first thing we ask about.

Where the coffee comes from

In the mountains outside Bogotá, family-owned coffee farms are connected by footpaths known locally as veredas. We work directly with the growers on those farms, with no brokers and no middlemen, which means we can pay them properly and take first pick of each harvest.

We've built relationships with more than 80 farmers across Colombia. Every bag carries the farmer's name, the farm's name and where it is.

All of it is roasted at our Kerr Village roastery in Oakville, every weekday, including the coffee served here.

Between those veredas and your cup, there's us. We're the Central in Vereda Central.

Is there much seating?

Yes, a lot. There are stools along the bar and tables through the room, so there is normally somewhere free to sit, even at busy times.

Is the Upper Middle café wheelchair accessible?

Yes. The entrance is step-free, everything is on one level, and there are two large individual washrooms.

Do you have Wi-Fi?

Yes, free for customers.

Where exactly is Vereda Central in the Upper Oakville Shopping Centre?

Is this the same coffee as your Kerr Street location?

Yes. All six of our cafés are supplied by our roastery at Kerr Village in Oakville, which roasts every weekday.

Can you grind beans for me here?

Yes, free, matched to how you brew at home. Just tell us what you use.

Is there parking?

Yes, and plenty of it. There is a large free car park at the shopping centre.
